Hey Erica here,

And you’re reading my uncensored review of what i really thought about Your Baby Can Read! My baby can read at 9 months old, it really is pretty impressive, however there are  some things you’ll want to consider before jumping into a program like this.

Why am I writing this? Well, there has been a lot of talk about this product by Dr. Titzer lately. And many of you have been asking me what I thought about this program, whether or not I would recommend this type of program to parents and how well it worked for my own children.

Your Have Been Warned!

Be Warned, I’ll be going into both the good and the bad points so if that’s something you might not want to hear, then you may as well leave now. I have had a chance to use this product with my own family. And I think the big question on everyone’s mind is can my baby read after using this.

Does it Work?

The easy answer is yes.

Dr.Titzer developed Your Baby Can Read, and his style is real straightforward it is primarily an agenda that teaches kids to recognize vocabulary by sight.

There has been some opposition for the reason that it does not teach kids to read in the full sense of the word. More accurately it teaches them to recognize instantly a number of words.

My Baby Can Read and This Has Made Us Very Happy……

We are very excited by the results we have achieved, it is almost unbelievable that my baby can read at such a young age. We have been applying these techniques for the last 8 months and couldn’t be more impressed.

There are a small number of things you’ll need to understand before you begin a course of this level.

Don’t Start Them Too Young!

My baby can read because the curriculum was started a little sooner than recommended, children as young as 12 months is what Dr Titzer suggests but we know parents that have tarted at 3 months. Understand that you will be introducing your baby to formal education 3-4 years before this has traditionally been done.

Structured Learning

When following a curriculum like Your Baby Can Read! you are giving time to structured repetitive learning, and this could be replacing other forms of learning. I’d encourage every parent who is taking into consideration using this course or any early learning system, to ask themselves two simple questions:

You Must Ask Yourself……

What other things would I stop doing while I use this program?

What would be the impact of the loss of this other activity?

Other then the two issues I expressed, if you do decide to use this method to advance your child’s learning, do remember they are still kids.

Please, do not forget to do all the required and progressive steps essential to a child’s development, this method works very well and should be used with other proven techniques, (many of which are covered).

My baby can read and I can’t imagine this not providing every benefit when she goes off to school. My husband and I trust that this has given our child a key advantage however, this is just our view and these are our experiences using Your Baby Can Read in our home.

There was a time was when most parents would raise a quizzical brow when asked if they read to their babies. Babies are, after all, born with a need to be loved and hugged, and reading to them at the cradle is something most moms do not readily do.  My baby can read because we did it the right way, you don’t want to overdo it when you teach your baby to read.

When you look at little babies, and see the expression on their eyes when they wake up in the morning, and they start to coo or laugh as adults smiling faces surround it, it’s really a divine experience.

*Newborns Focus On Objects 8 to 12 Inches Away

The least you’d want to do is try so hard and plunge into reading right away. Moreover, research points out that newborns are actually inclined to focus their vision on objects that are about 8 to 12 inches away from them. Newborn babies’ eyes also register hues like black & white, and red the best.

*First Make Your Focus On Toys Like Musical Mobiles, Wrist Rattles…..

Indeed, during infancy, moms deem it best to focus primarily on toys like musical mobiles, wrist rattles and other educational materials. Being a parent, a big concern of mine was over stimulation, I certainly did not want to teach my baby to read too soon and have her suffer the affects later.

*Don’t Over Stimulate When You Teach Your Baby To Read

Over stimulation has been known to create restlessness, uneasiness and other undesirable effects, you may opt to wait a few more months (preferably no earlier than 4 months) before creating baby bonding through relaxed or playful reading.

Or you can start out with toys or musical gifts that double as baby stimulation products designed to enhance infant development.

There are many parents who look forward to being able to eagerly exclaim “my baby can read!” but realistically speaking, most tots learn to read at around the age of six (or eight, in the case of late bloomers), or while in first grade. Infant learning researchers and psychologists maintain, however, that learning starts way before that time.

Many of you are always asking me how I taught my baby to read, in my next post I will be explaining exactly how my baby can read and how you can teach your baby to read too.

I’m asked all the time what is the best way to teach my baby to read,  I always answer the same, “just because my baby can read it doesn’t mean that we actually knew what we were doing.”

*What is the best way to teach my baby to read?

We just tried to give what almost all parents want to give their baby, a stimulating environment conducive to learning.  OK now you’re probably asking “what the heck is that environment,” and that is a great question.

Early learning and child development has come along way in recent years.  We learn more everyday about how our brain develops and the affect our outside environment plays on that development.

*It’s All Changing, My Baby Can Read!

This has really started to  play a big impact on changing the way we teach our children.

About a few years ago my husband and I had our first child (not her in the pic).  We were plagued by the tremendous amount of effort that goes into raising a child, I mean holy cow it’s  a ton of work.

*It’s so much work raising a child

I had know idea how parents could raise twins let alone 8 or more like some family’s today.  I have been a preschool teacher and child psychologist and still wasn’t ready for the challenge.

When I thought how I was going to teach my baby to read, I new I had at least an advantage there, I mean I had been teaching preschoolers for almost 10 years.

However, I did want to my baby to read sooner than what has been traditional done.

I thought I could with my experience but like I said before, we really had no idea how to teach a baby to read, it just hadn’t been done as far as we knew.
